Who We Support

We love supporting causes in and around our local community. Here is some more information about the main organisations or movements we have supported this year.

A Very Special Place

Soup On The Go

Local community groups, charities, and good causes are invited to register and deliver a short pitch explaining how their project will provide a lasting benefit to the community. Following the pitches, attendees vote for the projects they feel are most deserving, with organisations receiving between £100 and £500. Weaver Valley Rotary Club helps to promote the event, as well as seeking pitchers, and proving the prize money that goes directly to community projects.

Past projects include: Royal Vale Talking Newspaper, Davenham Dads Club, Claire’s House Children’s Hospice, Northwich Toppers.

Making lasting change

Northwich Beer Festival

Weaver Valley Rotary was proud to support the Northwich Beer Festival, organised by Northwich Rotary. Members from our club helped behind the scenes and on the day to ensure the event ran smoothly, with our 2024/2025 president also serving as treasurer for the festival. Alongside a fantastic range of beers, the festival featured a live band, a gin bar, cocktails and mocktails, creating a great atmosphere for everyone to enjoy. It was a lively community event that raised valuable funds to support local charities and community projects.

The Santa’s Sleigh

The Santa’s Sleigh event is always full of smiles, music, and festive fun, with the funds raised supporting local charities and community projects, making a real difference during the holiday season. Weaver Valley Rotary runs a couple of the routes ourselves, which is a wonderful way to celebrate the season together. The sleigh operates every night throughout December until Christmas Eve, and one of our members takes on the role of Santa for several evenings, spreading cheer across the community. He makes the perfect Santa, bringing the role alive and delighting children and adults alike!

Making lasting change

Cuddington & Sandiway Youth Club

Young members of the club enjoy a wide range of activities, including table tennis, pool, Nintendo and PlayStation gaming, and even karaoke. The club also organises creative and recreational projects, from friendly tournaments to a collaborative mosaic-making project that will be proudly displayed at the local train station for years to come.

Weaver Valley Rotary is pleased to support the Youth Club through a number of initiatives. This has included providing a Nintendo Switch for members to enjoy and helping to fund the Summer Club, offering activities for young people during the school holidays when schools are closed.

The club is also undertaking several improvements to the building to create a more welcoming and inclusive space for the young people who attend. Weaver Valley Rotary is proud to play a part in supporting such a valuable community resource.

My CWA

Weaver Valley Rotary Club is proud to support MyCWA, a specialist domestic abuse charity with nearly 50 years of frontline experience supporting individuals and families across Cheshire and beyond. MyCWA works with adults, children and young people affected by domestic abuse, providing vital services including a 24/7 helpline, safe accommodation, recovery programmes, practical and emotional support, and behaviour change interventions. Alongside this frontline work, the charity also delivers training to professionals and organisations to help improve awareness, understanding and prevention of domestic abuse.

Through fundraising, volunteering and raising awareness within the local community, Weaver Valley Rotary Club is pleased to play a small part in supporting this important work. Domestic abuse remains an issue that is too often hidden, and by working alongside organisations such as MyCWA, the club hopes to help encourage greater understanding, compassion and support for those affected.
